I’ve discussed the importance of shared sense of humor before, and how essential this is for many couples to feel close. Often, an elephant in the room of your marriage is that you don’t actually find your partner funny. Of course, women don’t like when you make EVERYTHING into a joke, but overall in my clinical experience as a couples therapist (and in my own marriage, where I find my husband very funny!), women are more attracted to and happy with guys who can make them laugh.
